Sarah Harding tributes pour in from celebrity friends after singer dies from cancer

Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding has died at the age of 39 after she lost her battle with breast cancer on Sunday.

Her mother announced the tragic news on Instagram in a lengthy post in which she confirmed the star “slipped away peacefully” surrounded by her family.

The singer songwriter has been suffering with the terminal diagnosis since August last year and but bravely fought the deadly disease until her final day.

Following the sad news of her of her passing, her celebrity friends and doting fans have shared their deepest condolences for her family during this tough time as they reminisced on their fond memories of the Ascot star.

Close friend and radio host Fearne Cotton penned: “Oh my gosh I’m so sorry to hear this, I’m sending your family so much love and strength.

“She was always kind and so much fun to be around. I’m very sorry for your loss. Prayers and love to you.”

Pop singer Alesha Dixon added: “A bright star! Rest in peace beautiful Sarah. Thank you for you love and kindness angel,” with three love heart emojis.

The Only Way Is Essex star Jessica Wright agreed: “This is so so sad [four heartbroken emojis] so so sorry for your loss & sending my deepest condolences. Another angel taken far too soon.”

Meanwhile guitarist Martin Kemp tweeted: “Sarah Harding so sad, my heart goes out to all your friends and family and all your fans … Rest in Peace.”

Denise Van Outen wrote: “This is so heartbreaking. Rest in peave beautiful Sarah. Thinking of you all. Family and friends.”

Michelle Heaton added: “I’m so sorry for your loss … Sarah lit up any room and was a good friend of mine in the early [years] in our careers … I’m heartbroken x x.”

Sheridan Smith posted: “So sad, what a sweetheart she was. Life is too short!”

Keith Lemon also joined in with the tributes, sharing a picture of him with Sarah, writing: “Sad times. Bless Sarah x.”

Her bandmates are yet to release a statement following her death.

Her loyal legion of fans also shared their fond memories of the blonde bombshell when she catapulted to fame in the early 2000s and how her music has impacted them over the years.

One user wrote: “So tragically sad. RIP beautiful lady and thank you bringing light and joy through your music to so many people’s life.”
