A contestant on SAS: Who Dares Wins has told how she hit rock bottom when she was jailed over a £1million drug deal.
Tyler Clark, inset, got involved in crime after falling on hard times as a young mum.
When police caught her transporting a batch of drugs, she learnt it was part of a large-scale operation.
Carlisle-born Tyler, then 21, was convicted of conspiracy to sell Class A and Class B drugs worth more than £1million and was sentenced to one year in prison.
She said: “For years I felt I had lost touch with who I was – almost like I was lost in life and had no idea what my purpose in life was.
“I hit an all-time low and found a way of escaping my pain through the use of alcohol and drugs. When I got myself into trouble with the police and received a prison sentence, I knew this wasn’t the life for me.
“I had to change. This was my time to take back control.”
Since leaving prison, Tyler has turned her life around.
She signed up for SAS: Who Dares Wins to prove to herself what she is capable of. The fitness coach, now 28, feared she would struggle, but was surprised by her own resilience.
She said: “My biggest fear has been losing control of myself and my mind in moments of stress and being out of my comfort zone.
“The experience has helped me realise I am stronger than I thought and that when life feels tough, it really isn’t so bad.”
Tyler added: “I feel that I have grown as a person and for that I will be forever thankful. I now know that I am fully in control of
my body and my emotions.”
SAS: Who Dares Wins is tonight at 9pm on Channel 4.
