Saturday Night Takeaway fans fuming as guest calls Ant and Dec 'low budget'

Guest Maddie Taylor appeared on the latest edition of Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.

Ahead of taking her seat on the sofa, Maddie was unaware what show she was appearing on and was left shocked when she discovered she was on the popular Saturday night programme.

But despite appearing somewhat startled, Maddie was certainly brimming with confidence.

Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly asked Maddie if she was surprised to be on the show and quick-witted Maddie fired back and joked “it said that it was low budget and you guys are here”.

A rather taken aback Ant said that he liked how “sassy” she is.

Maddie made a brutal jibe

But the joke didn’t go down quite so well with viewers at home.

Taking to Twitter, one social networker joked: “She just called @antanddec low budget!!!!! I’ll smash her face in!!!!!!!!!! #SaturdayNightTakeaway.”

While another continued: “What a b**** low budget #SaturdayNightTakeaway,” followed by a series of laughing faces.

Ant and Dec were taken aback by the joke

A third added: “She annoyed me calling ant and Dec low budget…..the rest of it got no better.”

“Did she actually just call Ant and Dec low budget oh my god,” said a fourth stunned viewer.

A fifth added: “Who says that in front of Ant and Dec – low budget.”

Maddie got the shock of her life when it was revealed that Ross Kemp had met some members of her family in his spoof true crime sketch, Ross Kemp: Uncovered.

Ross met her husband, mum and dad, and cousin who all dished the dirt on a gobsmacked Maddie.

But it wasn’t for nothing, as Maddie and her family were told they had won a holiday to Italy for their involvement in the comical segment.

Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway has been in the headlines this week after it was revealed that the show had been hit by Ofcom complaints.

During one sketch, the pair’s former SMTV co-star joked she had been “filled in” by Ant and Dec during one comedy sketch.
