Slowthai has promised to stop spitting in fans’ mouths during gigs amid the coronavirus pandemic… yes, you read that right.
The British rapper made the promise to stop doing it during his gigs because of Covid-19 and how that would – obviously – be a potentially deadly way of spreading the virus.
Real name Tyron Kaymone Frampton, the 26-year-old can often be seen at his gigs spitting in fans’ mouths and with videos showing them absolutely adoring the moment, who are we to judge?
Respectfully the rapper promised to quit the on-brand act during the pandemic for the sake of saving lives.
In 2019 a video went viral after an adoring – and rather ecstatic – fan begged the star to spit in her mouth, and so he did.

It occurred during his concert and after the attention it got a swarm of fans wanted the rapper to also spit in their gobs.
And so, again, he gave them what they wished for and made it his “thing”.
Nowadays however, we can’t be swapping saliva unnecessarily…
Slowthai made his promise while being interviewed by YouTuber Amelia Dimoldenberg or her show Chicken Shop Date.

She asked him if he was keen or not to bring the spitting back when his concerts start up again.
He replied: “No, I ain’t spitting in no more mouths now.”
The first time he spat in a fan’s mouth is actually a rather amusing story.
He was on tour at the time in the US supporting Brockhampton on their North American tour.
This was December 2019.

In a video shared on Twitter, Slowthai can be seen jumping off stage after clocking a female fan holding up a sign which read: “Slowthai I need you to spit in my mouth.”
The star clearly found it amusing as he pelted towards her and then proceeded to carry out the odd and very public act.
He politely said a few words to the woman before he grabbed the sign and held it up to show the entire venue.
What makes the story even better is the fan – called Kirsty – later spoke about her experience.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk about that moment, Kirsty said: “It was one of the best moments of my life.
“Slowthai is a beautiful man, I wish nothing but the best for him in his career.”
That’s certainly one way to get your favourite artist’s attention!
