If your spidey senses are tingling it’s probably because there’s a new Spider-Man film out this week – No Way Home.
Starring Tom Holland as the web-slinging Marvel hero Peter Parker and Zendaya as his girlfriend MJ, it sees the superhero ask Dr Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to make his identity secret again with magic.
But that causes the multiverse to break open and five supervillains from alternate realities enter Parker’s universe.
The latest series of Spider-Man films have been praised by Hollywood critics and become box office smashes.
But how much do you remember about the original trilogy, starting in 2002 and starring Tobey Maguire as the spider-bitten hero?
Here Daily Star looks at what happened to the cast.
Tobey Maguire
Tobey was the first actor to portray the character on the big screen.
He later starred opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in 2013’s The Great Gatsby but apart from that, has kept a relatively low profile.
A vegan, he was treated for a drinking problem early in his career but has remained sober since.
Divorced Tobey, 46, is also a high-stakes poker player who organised the celeb-packed private games of the 2000s, which were featured in the film Molly’s Game.
After three films, Tobey’s web-slinging days were done and The Amazing Spider-Man was released in 2012 with Andrew Garfield playing the lead.
Spoiler alert – both Tobey and Andrew are set to appear in No Way Home.
Kirsten Dunst
As Spidey’s love interest Mary Jane Watson, the pair shared a famous upside-down kiss.
Kirsten, now 39, was already well known thanks to films such as Little Women, but this propelled her into the A-list.
Since then she’s worked on TV shows such as Fargo and films including Anchorman 2 and can currently be seen in Western flick The Power of the Dog.
In 2008, she revealed she’d been treated for depression.
Kirsten, who has dated Jake Gyllenhaal and Razorlight’s Johnny Borrell, is engaged to her Fargo co-star Jesse Plemons and the pair have two sons.
James Franco
James was Peter Parker’s wealthy best pal Harry Osborn.
He went on to star in films including Pineapple Express, Spring Breakers and Oz The Great and Powerful, receiving an Oscar nomination for 2010 survival drama 127 Hours.
But following his 2018 Golden Globes win for The Disaster Artist, several women on social media came forward and described instances of alleged sexually inappropriate behaviour by the actor.
He denied all allegations.
Earlier this year, the 43-year-old agreed to pay £1.6million to settle a legal case which accused him of sexual misconduct.
In the proposed settlement, he did not admit wrongdoing.
Willem Dafoe
Willem was Harry’s dad Norman, who became the villain Green Goblin.
He was already famous for roles in gritty films such as Platoon when he took the part in Spider-Man and has since starred in many movies including John Carter, The Fault in Our Stars and The Lighthouse.
The actor, who doesn’t eat meat and practises yoga every day, is married with one son.
He’s also back in No Way Home as the Green Goblin.
Cliff Robertson and Rosemary Harris
Kindly Uncle Ben uttered the famous line: “With great power comes great responsibility.”
The character died during the first film but appeared in flashbacks during the sequels.
In real life, Cliff died aged 88 in 2011, with Spider-Man 3 in 2007 his final film.
Suffolk-born Rosemary played wise Aunt May.
She has won a string of awards for acting on stage and screen and now aged 94, is still going – appearing on Broadway in My Fair Lady at the age of 91.
She is the mother of Pride and Prejudice star Jennifer Ehle.
JK Simmons
He was J Jonah Jameson, the cigar-chomping editor of the Daily Bugle where Peter Parker was a photographer.
He has many film credits to his name including La La Land and Justice League and won an Oscar for his 2014 role as an intense music teacher in Whiplash.
JK, 66, has been married since 1996 and has two children.
Joe Manganiello
The actor got his first role aged 24 in the film, playing high school bully Flash Thompson, but his big break came as werewolf Alcide Herveaux in True Blood.
The 6ft 4in hunk then starred in the Magic Mike films.
Joe, 44, has been married to actress Sofia Vergara since 2015.
