Dan Walker decided to tell his wife Sarah how much he loved her during an emotional live moment on Strictly Come Dancing.
The BBC Breakfast host had just danced the Vienesse Waltz to his wife’s favourite song, Billy Joel’s She’s Always a Woman, with his professional dance partner, Nadiya Bychkova.
The TV presenter had even dedicated the dance to his wife, who happened to be sitting in the live studio audience as he performed the routine.
However, Dan didn’t stop there when it came to showing his wife how much she meant to him.
That’s because he decided to take a moment to tell her how “special” a woman she was after finishing the dance with Nadiya on Saturday night’s show (23 October).
Speaking about his latest dance, host Claudia Winkleman said: “You loved it especially because it’s your wife’s favourite song, so you were like ‘I’m doing this for you'”.
Dan replied: “Yeah, and Sarah thankfully is here tonight, you saw her come to training this week.”
He then declared on air: “I’m gonna gush over her for a moment because she’s one of those people that the more you know her, the more you love her.
“And I’ve known her and loved her for over half my life.”
The cameras then panned live to Sarah who was smiling lovingly as she sat in the audience watching her husband.
He went on: “[She’s] absolutely amazing, she’s such a special person and I love her to bits and I hope she enjoyed that because we really loved that, didn’t we?”
He turned to Nadiya who agreed, saying: “We really loved it.
“Claudia, do you know what? There is two things that I really love about this show.
“I love to teach and I love to dance, and this week I managed to do both because as a professional dancer, you’re always worrying about the celebrity to make sure that they’re okay but tonight I was able to dance.
She thanked Dan before the pair got awarded 28 points for their dance after each judge scored them with 7 points.
Their highest score to date, it saw them top the leaderboards at the start of Saturday night’s show.
Dan has been married to his wife Sarah for 20 years after they tied the knot in 2001.
They share their three children, Susanna, Jessica and Chuck.
Dan’s dance partner Nadiya choreographed the waltz routine with Dan’s wife in mind.
Speaking on ITV’s Lorraine, she said: “It’s dedicated to her and it’s beautiful music and I just tried my best to make sure Daniel will love the choreography and I hope Sarah will like it, too,”
