Strictly Come Dancing’sDan Walker has teased viewers about his upcoming dance routine with his first-time profession dancer Nadiya Bychkova after last week’s disappointing score.
The 44 year old joined his co-host Sally Nugent on the BBC Breakfast sofa on Tuesday and, despite his fellow presenter’s consistent complaints, he warned viewers this week’s performance will be “belting.”
Following the negative feedback he received from long-term judge Craig Revel Horwood, the dad-of-three has decided to dance each week like it’s his last in order to enjoy his time on the show as much as possible.
And even though he hasn’t been a hit with the judges, the Sheffield native has quickly become a fan favourite after he was voted through to week five of the competition which left Loose Women star Judi Love in the dance off with actor Greg Wise.
After Dan and Sally checked in with weatherwoman Carol Kirkwood, Dan teased how he was going to reveal his latest routine to the blonde bombshell after the show due to the strict restrictions outlined in the contestant’s contract.
He told the 59-year-old: “I was just about to tell you what dance I’m doing this week but I’m not allowed to so I’ll text you later, alright?”
An excited Carol couldn’t wait to hear the backstage gossip, and responded: “Oh great and good luck for Saturday night.”
Sally then turned to him and questioned: “So you know but we’re not allowed to say it publicly?”
To which Dan confirmed: “No, it has to be revealed by official channels, the song’s amazing though.”
Sally quipped: “Is it? Am I pretending I don’t know what the song is now?”
As he joked: “If you can almost close your eyes and enjoy the music and not watch the dance. You might need to do that on Saturday.”
The presenting pair couldn’t help but laugh during the show before his fellow co-host added: “Okay, well that’s always an option,” before she warned: “Never say that, don’t let me down.”
Already proud of his training so far, Dan reassured viewers: “It is belting, we’re gonna make sure what we do to it is just as good.”
Immediately predicting what many viewers were thinking, Sally asked: “And when can we tell everyone?”
A cheeky Dan replied: “I don’t know, I’ll ask and find out. I’ll text strictly during this next bit and see what they say,” as the show cut to the regional news.
