Strictly Come Dancing star Dan Walker is set to finally have a first dance with his wife – 25 years late.
The BBC Breakfast presenter, 44, didn’t have one on his wedding day with wife Sarah because he was too nervous.
But his success on Strictly has given him the confidence to finally give it a go.
Dan said: “I didn’t dance at our wedding in 2001, but it has always been our plan to have a party for our 25th anniversary, so now I’d love us to do a dance at that.
“We could learn one and make up for my lack of dancing on our wedding day.”
Meanwhile, Dan is amazed at how well he is doing – because he has always been terrified by dancing. He said: “It had always felt beyond me. I’m 6ft 6in, so I was always tall and awkward.
“That’s how I felt.
“The easiest way to deal with that is not to dance and just to be the joker on the sideline.
“I’d watch Strictly and think, ‘That looks amazing, I wish I could move like that’. So there has always been that desire.”
Dan and pro-partner Nadiya Bychkova reached last night’s quarter-finals against the odds, making him a target for online trolls.
He added: “Some people get miffed about whether their favourite has gone out of Strictly.
“I get that, but I would never go to the lengths that some people go to.”
