John Waite and Johannes Radebe kicked off the latest episode of Strictly Come Dancing with a bang – and unfortunately a slight mishap.
The fan favourite couple performed a fun-filled salsa to We Are Family, by Sister Sledge.
The high-energy performance wowed viewers and the studio audience alike, as the pair packed in multiple impressive lifts.
However, unfortunately for the extremely talented pair, the last lift of the routine didn’t go quite to plan and forced John, 32, to drop Johannes, 34, onto the ground in less-than-elegant fashion.
Straight after the routine, Johannes said “sorry” and admitted he’d given John the “wrong hand”, forcing the lift to not go as planned.
Tess Daly responded and said: “Well, he [John] did very well considering, you’re a very big boy to lift.”
Sweetly comforting his dance partner, John said: “It doesn’t matter,” as he turned to Johannes.
Tess then went to the judging panel to get their feedback on John and Johannes’ dance.
Reassuring the pair, Shirley said: “You know what, he did give you the wrong hand, but you got it up there! And we were in shock it even went up!”
Shirley continued: “And even if you did just drop him at the end, you got on with it, you did it, you entertained. well done.”
While Anton joked that he’d lifted many celebs on Strictly before that he “couldn’t wait to put down”.
While Craig said: “You had absolutely no chance, darling, you had just throw him on the floor in the end.”
And returning judge Motsi said that regardless of the mishap she still was a huge fan of the routine.
