Nancy Xu could not hide her disappointment as tears streamed down her face on BBC’s Strictly It Takes Two on Monday night.
The professional dancer was upset that she her hopes and dreams of lifting the famous Glitterball trophy with her celebrity partner Rhys Stephenson were over, as they were both axed from the show on Sunday.
Host Rylan wanted to give the pair a good send off on his spin-off show and in usual fashion, he requested for their best moments from the show to play.
After their timeline had been shown, the camera returned to the studio where Nancy was shown wiping away her tears with a tissue.
She reached out for TV presenter Rhys for a hug as she tried to control her emotions.
Rylan said: “Guys you have honestly been such a dream to watch and Nancy I can see how emotional you are feeling.
“I just want to say on a personal level you know how much we’ve wanted you to have a dance partner for so long.”
The presenter shouted: “Justice for Nancy!” before being cheered on by those in the studio who echoed his thoughts.
“How important has this been for the pair of you?
“Rhys just said it then Nancy, you’ve been the biggest part of his journey, what about you? This is your first time as well? And you made it all the way to the semi-final,” asked the former Big Brother star.
Trying to compose herself, the pro-dancer responded: “I know,” before adding: “I’m sorry, I’m so emotional.”
“Don’t be sorry at all,” replied Rylan.
Getting herself together, she explained: “It’s just teaching Rhys has been the most magical moment for me in the Strictly journey so far.
Turning to Rhys to grab his hand, she added: “Yes we didn’t make it to the final but we had everyones support behind us. Everyone saw us and gave us all of their hearts and supporting us in so many ways.
“I can’t thank everyone enough and I always say I’m so grateful for everything, for Strictly giving me this chance and giving me this wonderful person t learn from me and also I learnt so much from him.
“He’s patient, he’s generous. I know everyone says they work hard but he would never even ask me for a lunch break.”
