Supervet Noel Fitzpatrick struck down with Covid as disease 'packs a punch'

Noel Fitzpatrick has spent the last few weeks battling coronavirus, the Supervet has revealed, with the virus leaving him “exhausted”.

The Channel 4 star, 53, warned his fans about the dangers of spreading Covid, urging them to respectfully follow the government guidelines in place.

Sharing a video of himself with his cat Excalibur in his arms, Noel, who is originally from the Irish county of Laois, thanked his followers for their support throughout his health battle.

He said: “Hi everybody Noel and Excalibur here, just having a cuddle. I wanted to reach out and say thank you for your good wishes.

“Some of you will know I’ve had Covid pretty bad these last couple of weeks. It’s a horrible dose and leaves you very exhausted.”

Thankfully, it appears Noel is fighting through the virus, but the vet felt it was important to point out the severity of the disease.

Noel then highlighted the merit of wearing facemasks and practicing social distancing, as the virus is still rampant in the UK.

He went on: “So I guess what I wanted to say is, we’re not done with this thing and you’ve got to look after each other.

“You’ve gotta observe the rules, wear your masks and observe social distancing and importantly get your vaccine if you can.”

A lover of animals, Noel admitted his pets were a big source of comfort as his body tried to battle the virus.

“Because this is a bad disease and it really takes it out [of you] and I can’t emphasise enough that you’ve got to be careful still,” he said.

“If you can, give your animals a cuddle. That always makes things better but take care of each other.

“We’re not done ‘til we’re done so do the right thing, look after each other and thank you so much for looking out for me. God bless.”

Adding that Covid “packs a punch,” he finished: “Be careful out there and look after each other x.”
