Susanna brands Piers 'rude' as he calls her 'little lap dog' on GMB

Good Morning Britain’s Susanna Reid branded her ITV co-star Piers Morgan ‘rude’ after he made a remark about her being a ‘little lap dog’.

Morgan, 55, was slated Harry and Meghan on air once again and Reid, 50, had jumped to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s defence.

Piers was arguing that the couple’s Oprah Winfrey interview will be a “whine-athon” and he found the advert for the broadcast “utterly nauseating”.

Susanna said that the royals didn’t want complete privacy, but wanted to be spoken about with more compassion.

She added to Piers: “You’ve got such a negative filter about them.

“You’re obsessed with them.”

Piers branded Susanna “a little lap dog” for defending Harry and Meghan, to which she replied: “Can you not be rude?”

Viewers took to Twitter, calling out Piers after his remark.

One said: “Smh Piers just called Susanna a lap dog and he continues to do that mocking high voice”.

While another wrote: “Piers Morgan calling Susanna Reid a lap dog on national TV – not really acceptable is it. GMB”.

“Susanna has snapped, Piers ranting about Harry and Meghan again”, added a third.

Piers and Susanna were discussing whether Prince Harry should call for the Oprah Winfrey interview to be postponed as Prince Philip remains ill in hospital.

Morgan said: “Is he going to allow his whining about what a tough life he has from his LA Mansion to go out on prime time TV on Sunday night?”

Susanna replied: “Well I don’t I would describe it as whining, as you know, but I do think the timing of it is very difficult.”

An angry Morgan said the couple doesn’t want any criticism, but Susanna disagreed.

She said they want to be talked about in terms that are more ‘compassionate’ as she added: “They don’t want to be entirely private”.

Piers shot back: “No Susanna, they just don’t want any criticism!”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
