Susanna Reid has opened up on how she was “left in tears” as Good Morning Britain co-star Piers Morgan’s savage trolls began targeting her after Piers blocked them.
The star has hosted ITV’s GMB since 2014 and also occasionally hosts beside Ben Shepherd but it appears her onscreen co-host Piers has caused her some issues.
In seven years of presenting the news on the show Susanna is no stranger to receiving abuse from trolls online.
But the star has confessed there has been times she has been “left in tears” after being targeted for working alongside Piers.
The pair have sat next to each other presenting the news for five years.

During an interview with The Times, Susanna spilled on the times the trolling has managed to get to her.
The mother-of-three said it got to the stage where she would come home, come through the door and cry.
She said: “I used to get a lot of targeted abuse because someone didn’t like what the person sitting next to me said.
“Ben Shepherd is much more like a warm hug, whereas Piers Morgan is like sitting next to a pincushion.”

She continued to tell the publication how they “do fight like Punch and Judy, verbally”.
Susanna recently revealed in her Daily Mail column that she is taking a step back from social media due to the trolls.
The star wrote: “I’m finally at breaking point, and I’m taking a step back from all the nastiness…
“I’m not willing to let the abusers win, but I’ve turned off all the notifications and stopped checking my phone.”

“I’ll be blocking the worst trolls, and looking at my feed only when I need information on a news story,” Susanna continued.
One of the things Susanna has been trolled for is being Piers “lap dog” and even Piers himself took aim at the broadcast journalist.
Yesterday’s tense episode of Good Morning Britain saw Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid clash during a heated debate about Harry and Meghan’s upcoming Oprah Winfrey interview.
Piers was arguing that the couple’s Oprah Winfrey interview will be a “whine-athon” and he found the advert for the broadcast “utterly nauseating”.
Susanna said that the royals didn’t want complete privacy, but wanted to be spoken about with more compassion.
She added to Piers: “You’ve got such a negative filter about them.
“You’re obsessed with them.”
Piers branded Susanna “a little lap dog” for defending Harry and Meghan, to which she replied: “Can you not be rude?”
