Take That singer Gary Barlow was ready to leave his missus after she flogged his prized Star Wars toys.
He said wife Dawn mistook his valuable collection for a load of junk.
Gary, 50, said: “As a kid, I had all the original Star Wars figures and I never played with them. They were all still in their boxes.
“Then, in the early 2000s, Dawn decided to have a car boot sale to get rid of all the rubbish in the house.
“She came back with such a proud look on her face, and said, ‘I couldn’t believe it, as soon as I opened the boot, people were swarming round the car with their fivers out’.”
Gary added: “It was like a dagger through my heart and I’m still not over it.
“It was honestly the closest we’ve come to divorce.”
Some figures, like Luke Skywalker, sell for thousands. A 1978 Darth Vader could fetch up to £23,000.
However, Gary’s net worth is reported to be £90 million, which must help soften the blow.
Gary is such a fan of the sci-fi saga that he had a cameo role in the 2017 flick Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
The Million Love Songs hit maker, 50, had a non speaking role as a Resistance fighter in the climactic battle on mineral planet Crait.
Keen eyed fans weren’t able to spot him in the film’s final edit, though.
Last year, speaking to Robbie Williams’ wife Ayda Field on her Postcards From The Edge podcast, fan boy Gary talked about his experience in a galaxy far, far away.
“I toured the Millennium Falcon, and then the director comes in and goes, ‘Mark Hamill was meant to meet you today but instead we’ve got him on FaceTime’ and I’m like, ‘Oh Mark, I’m so sorry you don’t have to do this’.”
He also said Mark Hamill signed a photo for Gary that read: “From one X-Wing pilot to another, hope you’ve had the greatest day.”
