The Chase player 'insulted' by Shaun Wallace as she's hit with brutally low £400 offer

One player on The Chase was left fuming when she received a brutally low cash offer from Chaser Shaun “The Dark Destroyer” Wallace.

On Wednesday’s episode of the ITV quiz show, hosted by Bradley Walsh, four new contestants entered the studio ready to take on the Chaser in a bid to take home a big cash prize.

Lee, Corinna, Jonny and Liz were up against Shaun “The Dark Destroyer” Wallace in the latest battle of the brains – but the show quickly turned awkward when Liz walked up to the podium first.

Government officer Liz, 55, was first up to face the music, and she managed a reasonably impressive cash builder round by racking up £4,000.

Liz even confessed that she was delighted to face Shaun, with a bizarre admission that compared him to an egg, explaining that she would like to try and get to his “gooey centre”.

However, she was soon left bitterly disappointed when Shaun gave her a a brutally low offer of £400.

Host Bradley seemed shocked at the low offer as he cried out: “£400, wow!”

The government worker immediately shook her head and said: “That’s rude,” before Shaun offered her a higher option of £20,000.

Liz’s teammate Lee rushed to her defence and said: “You’re better than the £400, take the £4,000 and get back to us.”

Liz’s teammate Jonny then slammed the offer, saying: “£400 is an insult, go for the £4,000 and bring it back.”

Liz then admitted: “I’m insulted by the £400, I’m gonna go with the £4,000.”

Despite the “insulting” offer, Liz managed to make it back to her team with £4,000.

Later in the game, Liz and her team enjoyed a successful run which saw Jonny, Corinna make it to the final round of the competition – the Final Chase.

Sadly, civil servant from Lancashire Lee, 32, was booted off after getting caught out by Shaun.

Luckily for Liz and the rest of her team, they managed to out-run Shaun with multiple push-backs – leaving him beat with three more steps to go.

They three remaining players took home £11,000.

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
