The Chase's Bradley Walsh squirms over player's 'disaster' answer to question

The Chase’s Bradley Walsh was devastated to witness one contestant’s “nightmare” response to a tricky quiz question.

Player Tamrin stepped up to the plate, hoping to make it through to the finale to take home a tidy sum of money.

Unfortunately, luck wasn’t on her side as she faced Chaser Anne Hegerty, with a question about music journalism popping up on the screen.

Host Brad asked: “The website ‘Pitchfork’ describes itself as ‘The Most Trusted Voice In…’ what?”

Three answers were listed below – farming, music, or angry mobs.

Making the connection between pitchforks and farming tools, Tamrin plumped for option A, but was sorely disappointed when she was proven wrong.

Bradley was floored when “farming” proved to be the wrong answer

Instead, the correct answer was B, music, in reference to the US online music publication launched in 1995 by Ryan Schreiber.

Bradley reacted in horror, exclaiming: “Disaster! Nightmare!”

Anne picked the correct option, meaning Tamrin’s chances of making it through to the grand finale were seriously reduced.

The Governess remarked: “I do like the idea there might be a website that’s the most trusted voice in angry mobs.

Contestant Tamrin was disappointed when she realised Anne had answered correctly

“If you need an angry mob here’s where to go.”

Unfortunately, Tamrin’s disaster answer was a sign of things to come, as Anne managed to catch up with her before the round was over, leading to her elimination.

Pointing out luck was to blame – rather than Tamrin’s sense of general knowledge, Anne consoled her by saying: “That was unfortunate. Bad luck.”

“That was tough,” Bradley weighed in, thanking Tamrin for her contribution to the show by adding: “Great to meet you! God bless, bye-bye.”

Just two contestants made it into the finale – Neal and Albie.

The duo had £60,000 in the bank and managed to answer 11 questions correctly, giving Anne a run for her money.

However, Anne proved she is virtually unbeatable when it comes to quizzing, and knocked the two out of the competition with seconds to spare.
