Bradley Walsh gave his co-star Shaun Wallace a savage grilling after Shaun tried to make a joke on The Chase.
At the start of the ITV game show on Monday (October 25), Bradley welcomed the latest group of players into the studio – George, Julia, Libby and Noel.
However, when the first contestant stepped up to face Chaser Shaun ‘The Dark Destroyer’ Wallace, the segment quickly descended into a roasting match between host Bradley and his co-star Shaun.
Julia, a retired musician from Cambridge, had just racked up an impressive £7,000 in her cash builder round.
When presenter Bradley asked her who she’d like to face off against, she told him she’d like to go toe-to-toe with Shaun as he’s a “dish”.
Bradley then branded Shaun a “dish-cloth” as the quizzer appeared in the studio.
Shaun replied by taking a dig at Bradley, telling Julia that Bradley would rather call him a “mug” rather than a “dish” in a joke about kitchen utensils.
He told Julia: “Hello Julia, you think I’m a dish, do you? Bradley called me a mug.”
Bradley responded: “I would never call you a mug. You know why, because you’re not!”
Shaun then informed the presenter that he intended it as a joke, but Bradley was unimpressed with the kitchen quip, and he gave Shaun a real on-air grilling for it.
Crossing his arms, he said: “No, you’re no good at jokes. Leave the jokes to me. You do the quizzing.”
The studio audience started laughing as he went on: “In fact, I tell you what, leave the jokes and the quizzing to me, you just sit there.”
Shaun replied: “Fair enough.”
Although Julia managed to make it through to the final with her teammate Libby, the pair were unsuccessful in the Final Chase.
The team had banked £9,000, but Shaun managed to catch them fairly easily in the end, meaning the two players walked away empty-handed.
George and Noel were knocked out in the earlier rounds.
The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
