The One Show viewers were teary eyes as they watched an 18-year-old boy perform an inspirational dance on the BBC show.
Dylan is a member of The One Show’s Surprise Squad – a fundraising team made up of five inspirational young people who have been supported by Children in Need.
The inspirational 18-year-old has autism, and developed a rare condition called MDP Syndrome when he was just 18 months old – finally receiving a diagnosis aged 10.
The condition only affects him and just 15 other people in the world, and it causes health issues like eye problems, deafness, fat loss under the skin and joint stiffness.
However, Dylan hasn’t let that hold him back from doing what he loves – which is dancing.
Dylan performed a brilliant dance on Thursday’s The One Show to Robbie Williams’ 2016 track, You Are Beautiful.
He performed in front of BBC presenters Ronan Keating and Zoe Ball, as well as Strictly stars John Whaite and his professional dance partner, Johannes Radebe, who began to well up at the performance.
Fans were clearly getting emotional on social media too, with many reacting to Dylan’s dance on Twitter and posting lovely comments of support.
One fan wrote: “I’m in tears watching this young lad dancing on #TheOneShow. So moving.”
A second penned: “..so emotional watching Dylan dance”
A third commented: “Go Dylan! You’re a star”.
A fourth agreed: “I absolutely adore Dylan and the rest of the Surprise Squad for all they’ve done and achieved over the last couple of weeks.”
A fifth added: “Dylan, you superstar. Thank you for making our night sweetheart”.
Dylan was in for a surprise, as Strictly judge Anton Du Beke appeared on the show to review Dylan’s performance via video call.
Anton was bursting with praise for Dylan, and loved how he was using dance as a form of expression.
Even Robbie Williams himself was honoured to hear that his track was chosen by Dylan, and he recorded a sweet video message for the campaigner.
Describing the Surprise Squad, the BBC said: “The Surprise Squad will head to locations around the country where they will complete surprise challenges for BBC Children in Need funded projects that are in need of a little help with something – from creating a secret garden for a children’s hospice, to organising a much needed community fundraising event.”
