The Simpsons predicted Sir Richard Branson's space trip seven years ago

It looks like The Simpsons have done it again, as they’ve managed to predict Sir Richard Branson’s flight into space in an episode that first aired seven years ago.

Last weekend, Sir Richard, 70, and five crewmates took the historical trip into space traveling in the VSS Unity over New Mexico for his Virgin Galactic space flight.

But the miraculous flight took place in a 2014 episode of the popular cartoon sitcom called “The War of Art”.

In the episode, an art forger named Klaus Ziegler who was voiced by the late actor Max Von Sydo) informed Lisa Simpson that his “forgeries give pleasure to people all over the world”.

Not so longer after in the ep, the Virgin Media mogul can be seen floating in a spaceship while he looks admiringly at the forged painting.

An eagled-eyed fan of The Simpsons named Aditya Kondawar made the comparison and quickly posted the discovery online.

Sharing the pic, Aditya wrote: “How can The Simpsons show predict every Damn thing?”

Richard’s company Virgin Atlantic also picked up on it too and tweeted: “The Simpsons predicted it.”

Talking to The Sun about his recent trip into space, the billionaire said: “I’ve been dreaming about this since I was a child and what surprised me was that it was more extreme than I’d dreamt.

“The ride up was extreme, but it should be – a ride to space always is.”

But this isn’t the first time The Simpsons have managed to make predictions that have spookily come into fruition.

Matt Groening’s popular sitcom had characters in the show storm the Capitol with guns and other weapons in season seven, episode 18 titled The Day the Violence Died.

Earlier this year, hundreds of Americans pro-Trump supporters violently invaded the US Capitol building causing havoc.

At the time Vice President Mike Pence and Congress members were having a meeting to vote and certify the election results declaring President-Elect Joe Biden would be the new president of the United States.

The programme also predicted that Trump will become president of America back in the year 2000.

In the episode, an adult Lisa refers to “inheriting quite a budget crunch from President Trump.”
