The Weakest Link turns tense as player fumes opponent 'got lairy' in heated spat

The Weakest Link turned tense when Reverend Richard Cole unleashed at Karim Zeroual during the voting process.

It seemed as though the radio presenter and Church of England Parish priest had taken a disliking for the TV presenter – having voted for him two rounds in a row.

Even host Romesh Ranganathan had been astounded by Richard who had been brutal with his honesty about Karim having a bad round.

Romesh wanted to know why Richard had continued to vote for Karim, the Holy man responded: “Well he’d already lost any respect for affection from me after the last round, so nothing to lose you know.”

The Weakest Link turned awkward after Reverend Richard took aim at Karim

“Wow, this is a new side of you that we haven’t seen,” added Romesh.

Richard chirped back: “I’m retiring next year, I can say what I want.”

The comedian remarked: “Fair enough so do what you want.”

Speaking to camera after being voted off, Karim raged: “He got a bit lairy didn’t he?

Romesh didn’t know what to say as the Reverend lashed out

“He through few shots at me. Get Richard out.”

After Karim’s exit, Richard didn’t seem to cool down either as he took aim at comedian Dave Gorman and fashion designer Patrick Grant.

Richard had actually been the strongest link out of the three players but managed to rack-up the most votes.

Karim wasn’t happy that he’d been booted off

Having been annoyed that Dave and Patrick had booted him off Richard took aim again.

“We had no idea you had such venom in you Richard,” joked Ramesh.

Speaking off camera the reverend moaned that the he had been “unfairly” voted as The Weakest Link, explaining that he had been chosen because he’d been “a treat”.

The Weakest Link has recently returned to screens with a completely new host after Anne Robinson took on a role on Countdown instead.

Romesh Ranganathan has now been hosting the show and fans have certainly been enjoying the new version of the show.

The Weakest Link airs weekdays on BBC One.
