Social media was awash with This Morning viewers who were in tears following Heather’s appearance on the show.
The mum-of-two told Alison Hammond the heartbreaking news that she only has three months to live after battling breast cancer.
She took part in the Dosh On Your Doorstep game, and won £2,000 and a video message from Craig David for her birthday.
Holly and Phil couldn’t believe the response to Heather’s story, so she was back on the show today.
Heather was excited by how many new followers she’s had on Instagram.
“Yesterday my Instagram had 260 followers, and I woke up today with my Instagram following at 32,000 followers,” she explained.
“It’s been so overwhelming, I probably slept about two hours last night reading all the messages.”
She had a few celebrity messages, too.
Phil said: “Laura Whitmore, you got a message from her.”
“You also got a message from Great British Bake Off 2020 finalist Laura Adlington who offered to make you a cake, a stranger’s offer to make a balloon display.”
Phil continued: “Lots of people were asking if you had a GoFundMe page, so your sister-in-law set one of those up now and you’ve got £1,000 pounds in the GoFundMe page too”
“This is it’s one of those things that you look at and think oh, that’s where social media is a really good thing,” he praised.
Heather said her teenage sons have been thrilled: “It’s just gone mental, my boys because they’re teenagers are just like, ‘oh my god, mum, oh my god.’ They just keep looking at my Instagram”
“They run around the house every time it creeped up by another 1,000”
“I’ve never lied to them from day dot, never said ‘this is gonna happen, that’s gonna happen.’ We have a sit down every day after school to just explain things.”
Phil asked if she can send photos of the party when it does happen.
