This Morning ‘s Dr Zoe Williams has gleefully confirmed the news that she is expecting her first child.
The 40-year-old GP had always wanted to be a mum but at one point in her life thought that she’d have to go it alone, until she met her current partner Stuart McKay.
Before she and Stuart started dating, Zoe had contemplated a sperm donor in a bid to fulfil her dream of becoming a mother, and had already come to terms with being a single parent.
However, by chance, Stuart was waiting in the balance at bar in Portugal – where the couple first clapped eyes on each other – back in 2019.

Speaking to Hello! magazine, the TV doctor said: “There are two big ambitions I always had in life – one was to be a doctor and the other was to be a mother.”
The GP who works in South London, is enjoying going through the motions of pregnancy although she is very much in know already due to her profession.
She added: “As a doctor none of this is new to me, but when you’re the patient the experience is the same as for anyone else.

“Having my scan was just the most amazing thing. It’s so magical, the wonder of seeing this little life that’s growing inside you.”
Zoe spoke candidly about her considerations of conceiving alone and how she eventually approached the conversation of children quite early on, when dating Stuart.
The doctor went on: “When I met Stuart I was considering having a baby on my own,” she said.
“As Stuart and I got to know each other it almost felt disingenuous and wrong not to talk about this thing that, in the months leading up to that, had been a really big part of my life.
“So on our third or fourth date I told him I needed to know what his intentions were if our relationship worked out.”

Luckily for Zoe, Stuart was on-board with the future plan of having kids of his own but told her to keep up the investigations as a fall back plan, in case their relationship didn’t work out, although he had high hopes that it would.
Looking back at on what has been an eventful few years, after falling in love, working on the frontline during the coronavirus pandemic at London’s Nightingale Hospital and now starting a family, Zoe couldn’t quite believe how things had panned out.
The former Gladiators star explained: “If I could go back two years and speak to myself and say that by January 2021 you will have met the love of your life, be pregnant and you’ll have spent most of the year in lockdown I would have said you are having a laugh”.
