Meghan Markle’s estranged father has openly declared his love for his daughter and her husband in his explosive interview with 60 Minute Australia.
When asked on the Australian current affairs show if he thought that his estrangement from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would go on “forever”, Thomas suggested that due to his age it was possible.
He said: “Forever for me isn’t going to be that long, so yes, I guess it can go on forever. But I’m hoping it doesn’t go on forever.
“Right now I’m talking to Meg and Harry: I love you guys, we can work out the problems.
“I don’t think there’s any problems that can’t be worked out. I’ve said I’m sorry about the initial problem, if I’ve said anything today that offended anyone I’m sorry about that too. I’m just telling the truth and how I feel about what’s going on.”
He said that he would “never give up hope” on reconciling with his daughter and her husband, Prince Harry.
Thomas also said that they would be welcome “anytime they want to come down” if they had the urge to visit him.
Despite speaking about his desire to rekindle with his estranged family, in the same interview Thomas criticised son-in-law Harry for how he has handled his step back from being a senior Royal as he’s spoken out about his mental health.
Thomas said: “Stop talking about the Royals, stop giving away all the secrets about the Royals and love your children and love your wife.”
He also suggested Harry needed to better demonstrate his love for his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, and his father Prince Charles.

Thomas then suggested that, despite his criticisms and estrangement from Meghan, that Harry might love him if they were to meet – citing that he wasn’t unlikable.
He said: “If he met me he might [love me]. I’m not an unlikable guy.”
He also suggested that they hadn’t made the right decision opting to take a step back from their roles in England.
Her father claimed that the people of England “loved her and loved Harry.”
