Tipping Point fans in hysterics as contestant makes major Wizard of Oz blunder

Tipping Point fans were left highly amused after one contestant made a big The Wizard of Oz blunder.

During Friday’s edition of the hit ITV quiz show welcomed four new guests, including dinner lady Nikki from Oxford.

The contestant bravely stepped up to answer the first question of the day asked by host and Good Morning Britain presenter Ben Shephard.

The question read: “Which 1939 Judy Garland film features the song Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead?”

While the answer may be obvious to most, as the movie is possibly one of the most ubiquitous films in history, Nikki incorrectly answered: “Wicked.”

Responding to the error on Twitter, Tipping Point fans were quick to point out Nikki’s pretty obvious mistake.

One fan sarcastically wrote: “Wicked?! That old 1939 film we all know and love is called Wicked?!”

A third viewer replied: “Ding dong that so so obvious.”

Another sarcastic viewer wrote: “That famous 1939 film. Wicked.”

A fifth tickled fan simply concluded: “Wicked [cry face emoji].”

Nikki’s unfortunate answer did happen to fall on the notoriously unlucky date, Friday the 13th.

She also wasn’t too far off the mark, as Wicked is actually a The Wizard of Oz prequel.

Written by Gregory Maguire and published in 1995, the novel-turned-famous-musical retells the Wizard of Oz from the Wicked Witch of the West’s perspective, painting her in a more flattering light.

The musical features several other characters from the Wizard of Oz, including Good Witch Glinda Upland and Scarecrow.

Nikki’s Tipping Point blunder follows one of yesterday’s contestants giving a rather unusual response to a question about US politics.

Tipping Point continues on weekdays at 4pm on ITV
