Tom Cruise Mission: Impossible 7 train crash scene at risk following complaints

Tom Cruise’s new action-fuelled Mission: Impossible 7 movie almost became impossible to film, after suffering another major setback.

Film bosses made plans to film a train crash scene in Stoney Middleton in North Yorkshire. Things initially went well as film execs applied for permission to use the area to film and were given the green light.

However, local residents didn’t like the idea and were in uproar over the old quarry being transformed into a Hollywood movie set.

Peak District National Park Authority did give permission for the movie to be filmed in the area as long as they were able to keep disturbances to a minimum.

But local residents were still not convinced and claimed the Hollywood stunt could possibly upset the natural habitat.

Local residents, Elizabeth Longbottom, 80 and her husband Robin voiced their grievance regarding the filming taking place.

Speaking to The Sun, Elizabeth explained: “This is an area of beauty and tranquillity and that’s going to be shattered when Mr Cruise and his team turn up.

“He means nothing to me, it’s 46 years since my husband and I went to the cinema.”

Husband Robin chimed: “I assume the film company are paying handsomely for the privilege of disrupting everyone’s lives.”

Though many residents disapproved of the idea at first, director Christopher McQuarrie gave thanks to the locals for giving them permission to film.

Taking to Instagram, the filmmaker wrote: “What would Mission be without a bit of local colour?

“Our sincerest thanks to North Yorkshire Moors Railway, the Office for Road and Rail, Eddie Draper, Riley’s & GB Rail Freight and, of course, the incredibly lovely and welcoming people of Levisham.”

Actor Tom who does most of his stunts, continued to rehearse the epic stunt for three weeks prior as he stepped back into one of his most famous roles.

The father of two had already taken part in some incredible scenes for the seventh instalment of the film.

For example, Tom remarkably held his breath underwater for around six minutes during filming as well as jumping from 25,000 feet out of a plane.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic Mission Impossible has endured several difficulties. Last year, The Sun reported that there was a recording of the Top Gun actor shouting and swearing at his film crew after they failed to abide by Covid-19 rules.

On the recording, Tom can be heard shouting: “I don’t ever want to see it again, ever! And if you don’t do it, you’re fired, if I see you do it again, you’re fucking gone. And if anyone in this crew does it – that’s it, and you too and you too … don’t you ever f*****g do it again.”
