Waterloo Road star Lauren Drummond looks unrecognisable 15 years later after starring on the show.

The 33-year-old is best known for playing Mika Grainger in the BBC show between 2006 to 2008.

The actress has grown up since her Waterloo Road days and now sports long blonde locks.

The actress took on the school girl role in season one of the BBC programme and stayed on our screens until episode 20 in series three.

Mika’s mum Izzie Redpath was a drama teacher at Waterloo Road school which her and her sister Chlo attended.

Lauren’s character’s world came crashing down in series two after her mum was stabbed by Jedd Seddon.

Mika was also online bullied by her best friend Leigh-Ann Galloway.

To make matters even worse she later finds out that her boyfriend Brett Aspinall cheated on her with her sister.

The character went through a rebellious stage before quickly snapping out of it.

Mika left Waterloo Road to study at university at the end of series three.

Since the BBC One show Lauren has landed a number on TV roles.

She has played Hannah Sharpe in Holby City, Sophie Stanyard in Doctors and Hayley Scott in Blue Murder.

From 2011 to 2013, she played Chantelle Lane in hospital drama Holby and later returned again in 2016.

In 2018, Lauren played Hilde in BBC’s The Dumping Ground and Kelly Jones in ITV’s Unforgettable.

More recently in 2019, she starred in Coronation Street as Jane Bestwick.

Last week on Instagram, Lauren shared a heartfelt post to her fans saying how much she will miss Holby City.

Alongside a number of pictures of herself and other characters, she wrote: “Ahh @bbcholbycity how much you’ll be missed”

She continued: “What a happy happy chapter you were. What a wonderful crew and cast Holby had, such a pleasure to work with every day, if you can call it work.

“I met some brilliant friends and made lovely memories. So many actors share those Holby memories I’m sure!

“Always grateful for Chantelle. I could do with a daily dose of her in my life.”
