Aston Merrygold has hinted he would love to take part in another reality show such as I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! after his success on Strictly Come Dancing.
The JLS member, 34, has confessed that he thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the BBC One dance competition with professional partner Janette Manrara back in 2017 and has now set his eyes on the ITV reality show.
The three-week celebrity show is set to change its long-standing format for the first time after TV bosses invited former winners of the show to return to the jungle in an all-stars spin off series.
The show is set to be hosted by beloved Geordie double act Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnely as usual, but will be hosted in the heart of South Africa rather than their normal camping group in Australia.
It comes as Aston unveiled a new playground made from old recycled McDonald’s Happy Meal toys at the Ronald McDonald House in the heart of Manchester.
And now, in an exclusive interview with Daily Star, the singer has thrown his hat into the ring should some of the celebrity stars turn down the dazzling opportunity.
When asked if he would take part in the show, the doting dad confessed he would jump at the chance to take part.
He said: “I do love shows when you get to do something, I will say that, I think that’s the best way to put it. I would definitely want to challenge myself.
“You can never say never, so the door is always open,” he teased.
It comes after Myleene Klass appeared on Lorraine Kelly’s TV show where she revealed whether or not she would sign up to the spin off show after being pipped to the post by Matt Willis in 2006.
As she addressed her infamous shower pics from the show, the star joked: “I don’t know I might have to tuck [my boobs] into my socks, I’ve breastfed three babies since then!
“It feels like a lifetime ago and only yesterday – it’s that weird dichotomy but it was a really good time in my life.”
Myleene’s shower scene is brought up series after series when fans discuss their most memorable jungle moments, but viewers were surprised to know the exact bikini she wore in the camp was auctioned off for charity and raised £7,500 in total.
