BBC Breakfast's Naga Munchetty in tears after being told she was 'b****y useless'

Naga Munchetty has told how she was called “b***** useless” early in her journalism career.

The BBC Breakfast star said when she started out as a print journalist there were many days she went home from work crying, reported the Mirror.

She was also told she needed to “toughen up” if she wanted to be an on air presenter.

“I did go home many a day in tears, but equally, I learnt not to make mistakes, that mistakes weren’t acceptable,” she said.

The 47-year-old revealed that her early experiences helped make her a better journalist in the long run, because she learned to be very diligent.

“That fear of making a mistake meant that you did your research twice as well, and to the best of your ability,” she added.

Naga’s first job was as a journalist on the City Pages of the Evening Standard and she later moved into TV as a reporter for Reuters Financial Television.

She went on to have other roles at places like Bloomberg Television, CNBC Europe and Channel 4 News.

In 2014, the brunette became a regular presenter on TV show BBC Breakfast.

Thanks to her spot on the famous sofa, Naga is no stranger to being criticised online, whether it’s over something she has said or the clothes she put on that day.

However, on several occasions she has swiftly put trolls in their place with her polite comebacks.
