Zoe Lyons has been left devastated by the cancellation of her BBC quiz show.
A BBC spokesperson told Daily Star that BBC Two game show Lightning has been yanked off air after just two series of it gracing the airwaves.
The quick-fire quiz format let players battle it out to win the £3,000 jackpot, with contestants tasked with passing a light from themselves to a rival of their choosing by answering questions correctly.

Whoever was caught in the light when the timer ran out was eliminated.
However, in a brutal twist, only viewers at home could see how much time was left on the clock and who was about to be ousted.
But Lightning is to be no more, as Zoe is hanging up her sparkly blazer for good, as she announced the series has been axed.
Posting a snap of that very outfit to Twitter, she told fans: “Sadly all good quizzes must come to an end but I can’t tell you what a joy it was to work on @lightningquiz for @bbc2.
“We made 2 cracking series and I loved every second of working with my pals at BBC Belfast. Every contestant was a [star emoji] and you can still catch up on @BBCiPlayer.”
The BBC told Daily Star: “Lightning has had two great series but we need to make room for new opportunities. We’d like to thank Zoe and the team for all their hard work.”
Upset fans soon poured into the replies section to console Zoe, with one writing: “Oh no, I’m absolutely gutted! Such a shame we won’t be seeing another series.
“I hope you get another show soon Zoe as you were brilliant on Lightning, there’ll never be another quiz like this. I will miss it!”
Another echoed: “I thought the show properly found its feet in S2. What a shame to axe it now!”

As someone else penned: “Really sorry to hear this – it was a great show, you were a brilliant host, and it was immensely enjoyable to take part in as a contestant.”
“Ah man, sorry to hear this Zoe. I thought this news might be coming at the Beeb. Hope there might be a future for it there yet at some point – it was great!” a fourth posted.
Lightning isn’t Zoe’s only project, however, as she has also had spots on Stand Up and Deliver on Channel 4, along with making TV appearances on everything from The Wright Stuff to Mock the Week and QI.
She emerged onto the comedy scene after initially working odd jobs, including as a waitress and in a jam factory in Glasgow – and graduated with a degree in psychology.
