Beat The Chasers star Paul Sinha has made a rather rude jibe towards his ITV co-star.
On Monday’s programme (May 16), Anne Hegerty was missing from the lineup which led to Paul making the remark.
ITV host Bradley Walsh welcomed the quiz gurus onto the show and said: “Hello and welcome to Beat The Chasers and here they are… The Menace, The Sinnerman, The Vixen, The Beast, The Dark Destroyer and The Governess…”
But as the camera panned onto Anne’s seat, she was missing which lead the audience to erupt with a big “Oooooooh” sound.
Bradley added: “Oh, it’s like theatre, isn’t it? The governess, what’s the matter with her, anyone?”
“No one really knows where she is right now but if anyone spots her the public are warned not to approach her under any circumstances,” quipped Paul.
Australian Chaser Issa Schultz came onto the show to sit in Anne’s empty seat for the episode.
Viewers flocked to social media to comment on Anne not being on the lineup, with one writing: “#BeatTheChasers It’s really strange without Anne on the show!”
Another added@ “@anne_hegerty How come that you’re Not on #BeatTheChasers as The Chaser Anne ???”
While a third penned: “I wonder why Anne Hegarty isn’t starring in this series of #BeatTheChasers”
“To everyone who’s still asking where @anne_hegerty is, the reason was already made clear, so please do yourself a favour and… #BeatTheChasers,” shared a fourth.
A fifth joked: “‘Beat them? Can’t even find one of them’ – I bet Anne Hegerty has snuck off to watch the Doctor Who filming in Cardiff. #BeatTheChasers”
Another viewer kindly tweeted: “I’m now watching #BeatTheChasers I’m happy it’s on for this week and a huge warm welcome to Issa from the Australian Chase who is taking over from Anne who is busy filming during this series hope you’re safe and well @anne_hegerty #BeatTheChasers”
