Faye told us: “One of my boats was on fire, that was probably one of the scariest moments of my life, honestly.
“It was very sad as well to know that so much money goes into a boat, it’s somebody’s home, something we’ve all worked hard for, and to just watch it burn to the ground and sink, it almost feels like you’ve lost someone.”
She went on: “I felt like I was in mourning for a month, so that was horrific.”
Remembering the scene, Faye said: “All the fire engines came because it was on the dock, so very scary there.”
Despite viewers seeing the glamour on the Below Deck franchise, Faye wanted to remind them that the crew and guests always have to be alert.
She said: “Sometimes when we’re doing manoeuvres and the tide or current is not working with us, the captain can’t control the boat.
“We are in danger, we have got the tenders, we have got the lines that are trying to pull us – it’s not all white gloves and pouring wine, there are other aspects to this job that we have to train for.”
Despite the constant risk, Faye said she had an “amazing” experience filming for Below Deck Adventure – even if it was “traumatic”.
“All the guests are highly demanding, they were fun and I can honestly say I’ve made a lot of friends with my charter guests, we’re all in contact, every single charter guest left with tears in their eyes which is all I wanted, but it was difficult,” she told us.
“The fact that Norway, the sun doesn’t go down, so I had my guests from 7am until sometimes 4am the next morning and it was me that we me talking to them, doing the cocktails, doing the activities, so it was exhausting, it was traumatic, but I don’t regret it one bit.”
Below Deck Adventure is available to stream on hayu, with new episodes added Wednesdays
