Ben Shephard brands MIC hunk Sam Thompson 'rubbish' in awkward ITV Tipping Point moment

Made In Chelsea star Sam Thompson was branded “rubbish” by Tipping Point host Ben Shephard during the celebrity edition of the ITV show.

The reality regular hid his face in embarrassment as his first attempt at dropping a counter into the machine didn’t go to plan.

He started off by excitedly, telling host Ben that his mum would be “so excited” he’s there, before enthusiastically telling the host “you smell great as well!”

“Sorry, that was weird.”

Ben told Sam how to play, advising him: “When you’re ready, you’re gonna release the counters, unless you’re going to use the power of your mind.”

Panicked, Sam said “Now!” as Ben yelled “Oh Sam, no!”

“Why not?” asked Sam, confused.

“Because it’s riding and that’s rubbish!” exclaimed Ben.

Sam had introduced himself, saying: “I’m Sam Thompson, best known for being on a show called Made in Chelsea.

He joked: “It’s all about posh people and our hardships in the in the borough of Chelsea.

“If these guys even try and underestimate me, I’m gonna get the butler to deal with them.”

Sam was joined on the show by comedian Suzi Ruffell and actor Stephen Mangan.

Fortunately his second and third attempts with the counters improved, and he ended up with ten counters over the line.

Suzi didn’t fare well with her attempts either, and Ben scathingly told Stephen “These two are making it look harder than it is!”

Sam’s beginners luck seemed to continue, as he racked up the counters.

He was leaping around with joy, shouting “This game is amazing! I’ve never won anything before in my life!”

The Made In Chelsea star somehow made it through to the final, exclaiming “I don’t know how I did it, Stephen knows a lot more then me.”

He took his mum’s advice as to where to put his counter for the final round, in his attempt to win £20,000 for charity.

He enthusiastically yelled “Van Gogh” for an answer about The Scream, insisting it was right as he studied the History of Art at university, but the answer was Edvard Munch.

Sam apologised for shouting constantly and for his excitement, and it seemed like Ben had warmed to him as he told him he was “loving it”.

He also told Ben that his mum Karen “fancies” him.

Sam ended up with £5,200 for his chosen charity, Barnardos.
