BGT fans convinced they've 'worked out' mind-reading act as they spot clue in audience

Britain’s Got Talent: The Ultimate Magician left viewers in a speculative mood as some were convinced Colin Cloud’s act was not legitimate.

The special episode kicked off on ITV on Sunday night (December 18), giving fans the chance to see 10 magicians from past BGT seasons compete for a chance to win a £50,000 jackpot and to be crowned the Ultimate Magician.

First to step on to the stage was Scottish stage mentalist Colin, who describes himself as The Real Life Sherlock Holmes.

One person wrote: “The judges and audience are great actors to support the magic acts.”

Another said: “All 3 people in the audience are working with him.”

A third added: “How do we know they’re not stooges?”

While a fourth viewer chimed: “Most obvious plants ever.”

Colin impressed some viewers

But despite some suspicions raised by viewers, others seemed to love Colin’s act.

Othering an opposing view, one fan wrote: “What an amazing trick from @Colin_Cloud. An absolutely stunning way to open #BGT.”

And another impressed spectator shared: “#BGT Colin was amazing I’m still trying to process what the hell.”

Colin’s talent became known to a wider audience when he appeared in Season 12 of America’s Got Talent.

Discussing what viewers will expect from the ITV spin off show, Katie Rawcliffe, head of entertainment commissioning at ITV said: “Some of the Got Talent franchise’s most jaw dropping acts hail from the world of magic.

“So we’re looking forward to bringing viewers this very magical special, in every sense, which promises to showcase the scale and breadth of talent on the show from across the years.”
