BGT fans overcome with emotion as 'mini David Attenborough' appears on ITV show

Young environmentalist Aneeshwar Kunchala won the hearts of the nation with his passionate wildlife routine on Britain’s Got Talent.

The seven-year-old schoolboy appeared on the second episode of the ITV talent show’s 15th series, which aired on Sunday night (April 17).

Aneeshwar performed powerful poetry about the beauty of nature and the importance of conserving the planet, which led to judge Amanda Holden comparing him to legendary TV wildlife expert Sir David Attenborough.

The youngster was also revealed as the first of BGT’s Golden Moments, which sees each judge surprising one of the acts and inviting them to audition at the London Palladium.

Sunday night saw Aneeshwar take to the stage like a true explorer fitted in a grey jumper, camo trousers, a blue baseball cap and a rucksack, not to forget a a trusty pair of binoculars.

In his routine, Aneeshwar “There’s no other planet like Earth. It holds plants and flourishes life. It is an amazing creation. A real inspiration. There’s no other planet like earth.”

He then told people to stop “getting it wrong” for “much too long” by not looking after the planet properly.

A moving orchestral soundtrack played in the background during the recital, which also involved Aneeshwar’s friends join him on stage dressed up as different animals and plants, such as an elephant, a tiger and a tree.

The inspiring audition received a standing ovation from the audience and the judges were quick to applaud him.

Judge Amanda said: “The message is so important and when I think about somebody like David Attenborough, somebody we obviously all look up to an admire, you’re the perfect person to follow in his footsteps.”

Simon said he was “incredible”, asking Aneeshwar how old he was when he wrote his material.

The schoolboy revealed he was “about six years old”.

Unsurprisingly, he received an easy four ‘yes’ votes from the judges, to which he yelled: “Oh yeah!” in celebration.
