Bailey McConnell impressed judges Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams on his first audition on Britain’s Got Talent.
While he later went on to impress big boss Simon Cowell, who wasn’t at his audition on the first day, he sailed through to the live shows and immediately won the hearts of the viewers at home.
Although he didn’t go on to win the show, Bailey still managed to build up a career in music and his Semi Final song Growing Pains had a music video which landed 1.5million hits.
He went on to release other tracks online, but shortly after the stint on BGT, he slowly stopped posting to his YouTube channel.
As we near eight years since Bailey first stepped foot onto the iconic ITV screens and blew the judges away with his first audition, Daily Star has looked at what he’s up to now.
Transformation
Now in his 20s, Bailey is a far cry from the teenager we first saw step onto the big stage and fight to impress the judges.
While he still boasts his trademark blonde hair and a slight quiff – but certainly a smaller and less fluffy version – he is still looking vastly different.
Bailey now also dons facial hair and his own sense of elaborate style along with a nose piercing and a small piece of ink below his eye.
He’s also shown that he has a tattoo on the back of his neck of strong wings floating out.
Although Bailey hasn’t shared too many snaps of himself on Instagram, it’s clear that while he looks different, his goals remain the same, with multiple pics of him sat in the studio posted online.
Reflection
Bailey isn’t one to shy away from his success on BGT, in fact, both his Instagram and TikTok bio say “That kid off the TV…”, as though to pose as a constant reminder.
He has also chosen to do duets with people on TikTok where he recites his initial audition word for word and, just last month, he posted a photo of him on Instagram as a direct comparison.
Sharing two snaps side by side, Bailey posted a photo of his teenage self in a forest and shared it with a photo of himself now, with the throwback snap from his debut track.
Captioning the snap he wrote: “Time is a scary thing,” which was quickly met by support from his pals.
One person wrote: “Wow. The growth,” while another said: “Growth is key.”
Social media silence
Bailey started to drop off social media for a brief time as he moved from his teenage self into his new era of music.
The disparity on his profile shows him heading up a crowd of hundreds of people at concerts as fans begged to see him perform live, with most snaps on his Instagram showing as such from 2014-2016.
After that, he posted again in 2018, before his pictures became less and less regular.
However, over the last few months, he’s been building up his snaps once again as he shared the news with his followers that he’s back in business and is gearing up and ready to go.
New music
Now that he’s back on socials and posting regularly once again, fans are eager to hear from Bailey, and they’ve made that clear from their excitement on his posts.
And Bailey has been releasing new tracks – for the first time in years, with his latest single Scars out now, which the star has flagged up to fans on his Instagram.
Although he hasn’t confirmed anything about his next track just yet, he has recently hinted that he’s “Got something coming”, for his loyal fans.
