BGT's Loren Allred claims she suffered 'frightening' sexual harassment from music boss

Britain’s Got Talent star Loren Allred claimed that she suffered “frightening” sexual harrassment from music executives when she was a teenager.

Loren, 32, wowed the judges and viewers with her performance of Never Enough on the ITV talent competition on Saturday night (April 16).

The 32-year-old, who was the original voice behind The Greatest Showman smash hit, is no stranger to the music industry and bravely revealed that she has experienced the darker side of a career in music.

Loren was signed to Island Def Jam back in 2008 after being spotted by global popstar, Ne-Y0.

However, Loren has not revealed the identity of the person she claims harassed her during her younger years.

Speaking on her experience, Loren told The Sun: “There were people I thought I could trust, and it turned out I really couldn’t trust them.”

She continued: “They abused their power, they used my age and my naivety to get me into really uncomfortable situations, the kind we have all read about.

“There were people giving me ultimatums, like: ‘I’ll make your career happen if you do this.”

She revealed that the harassment occurred throughout all of her years while signed on to the record label and said: “Nothing ever happened because I was strong enough to say no.”

The Never Enough singer explained that she never made a formal complaint and bravely explained: “Was I frightened? Yes. Record label executives are really good at intimidation.

“It took me a while to recover.”

Loren insists that her harassment was not at the hands of anyone who were part of the team employed by Ne-Yo.

On Saturday night’s episode of Britain’s Got Talent, Loren belted out a stunning rendition of the hit song from the 2018 movie soundtrack and received a standing ovation from the London Palladium.

The singer sailed straight into the live semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent after receiving Amanda Holden’s golden buzzer.

As Amanda congratulated Loren, she said: “I am absolutely shaking. I can’t believe I’ve had this incredible opportunity to give you your moment to shine because this is it.”
