Big Brother UK return date 'confirmed' as show prepares for ITV2 revival

The 20th series of Big Brother UK’s launch has been “confirmed”, according to telly sources.

The civilian edition of the hugely popular reality TV series was confirmed to be returning to our screens earlier this year by ITV during the advert break of Love Island’s live final.

ITV bosses revealed during the exciting announcement that the TV show would air on ITV2 after they picked up the shelved programme.

Prior to the launch of it’s anniversary series, Big Brother was previously aired on Channel 4 and then again by Channel 5 until the show was axed in 2018.

But four years later, the show is set to make a triumphant return with rumours that the launch could be as early as spring 2023.

According to TV sources, the beloved TV show will launch in March 2023 both on ITV2 and ITVX – the channel’s new free streaming service.

Daily Star has contacted an ITV spokesperson for a further comment.

It is not yet known who will host the new series, with fans calling for both Emma Willis and Davina McCall to return to the hot seat once more

Rylan Clark has also been tipped to be involved in the launch of the new series after he presented the spin-off series Big Brother’s Bit On The Side when the series aired on Channel 5.

What is known is that the housemates will be members of the public – not the much-loved celebrity edition – and they will be treated to a brand-new house in a secret UK location.

Many viewers were left overjoyed at the news of when the series would return but many others were disappointed that they wouldn’t see the ITV show return in January.

It is likely that Big Brother will not air during the winter or summer months in order to avoid viewers clashing with the return of the hugely popular dating series Love Island.

Fans soon flooded to Twitter to share their excitement over the show’s return with many predicting which of their favourite hosts and challenges will return.
