Bradley Walsh’s reign as presenter of ITV quiz show The Chase could soon be over, as Mark Labbett has warned him to “watch out”.
Bradley, who has been presenting the show since its conception in 2009, could have some competition for the coveted role – and that competition could be closer to home than he thinks.
It seems Mark has been honing his own hosting skills working at a bingo event in Sheffield in recent months.
Taking to Instagram, Mark posted a set of grinning snaps of him in a dark suit blazer and blue shirt worn open at the collar, clutching a microphone in his right hand as he posed on a podium – the room around him filled with strobe lights and dry ice.
In another picture, tables full of people were visible as the star turned fully to face the camera with a huge grin on his face.
Writing alongside the snaps, Mark warned: “Watch out Bradley…
“Presenting skills are certainly improved after boogie bingo at @codesheffield last month!”
Fans immediately hopped into the comments section to praise Mark for his skills and to make their own predictions about the future of the show.
One gushed: “And the next presenter of The Chase is…” with a row of heart-eyed emojis.
As someone else posted: “Handsome man and so clever!”
“Looking great, Mark!” another fan chimed in, while a fourth echoed: “Very handsome and clever, what’s not to like?”
However, Mark might not be the only one in the running after Joe Pasquale replaced Bradley at the presenting podium during a special episode of the show.
Joe kicked off the show by announcing: “Hello, and welcome to The Chase. I’m Bradley Walsh, TV’s luckiest man. And once again, I’ll be asking questions I can barely read – let alone understand.”
And Bradley, up in the mixing studio, could be heard calling for a “Cut!” as he urged security to eject Joe from the premises.
Two members of the audience poised to look like security could then be seen running Joe off the set as he yelped in fear.
However, it was all in jest, as the iconic host was merely providing the voiceover for a special blooper episode of the programme – documenting the quiz show’s most hilarious mess-ups over the years.
