Britney Spears fans were left raging after her ex-husband Kevin Federline hailed her dad Jamie Spears.
The backing dancer claimed her father had “saved her life” with the controversial conservatorship.
In an hour-long interview with with 60 Minutes Australia, Kevin explained that certain measures that were enforced by Jamie were necessary for the songstress.

During the discussion, the professional dancer was asked to disclose his views on Britney’s dad and whether or not the conservatorship was the right choice.
In response, Kevin said: “One hundred percent I feel like he saved her back then.”
He went on to add: “I wasn’t involved in any of it how the conservatorship came about. I don’t know.
“They were worried about their daughter and trying to do whatever they can to help her. That’s all that I knew.”
Viewers were outraged by his comments as they took to social media to slam the hitmakers ex and producers for allowing him air time.
One person penned: “Believing this man is a mistake. All Kevin worries about is money. He was one of the reasons for Britney’s spiral.
Another echoed: “All Kevin wants is to make money off Britney. He doesn’t care about her wellbeing.”
A third barked: “This is really poorly researched. Really factually incorrect. And tells a very edited version of the situation from the side that controlled, assisted and benefited from the conservatorship. This is toxic.”
A fourth angry Twitter user fumed: “It’s pretty bad. You make the conservatorship look justified. They stole hundreds of millions from her. It’s fraud and enslavement.”
It isn’t just Kevin who seemed to agree with Jamie’s measures after Britney’s 15year-old son Jayden recently spoke out to defend in grandfather.
While Jayden is finding it hard to see his mum’s semi-naked Instagram posts on a frequent basis he explained that he will not “hate her” for stripping off.
In the same interview with Daily Mail, the teen also defended his grandad Jamie, over the 13 year-long conservatorship.
He told the publication: “[Jamie] doesn’t deserve all the hatred he is getting in the media.”
“I love him, with all my heart he was just trying to be a father.”
