Britney Spears left fans unsure and baffled over her latest cryptic post that was shared with her adoring 40 million followers.
The 40-year-old singer sparked a lot of confusion as she took to the digital platform with a picture of a large iron key that was placed on note written in script and stained.
Fans found it hard to decipher the words and understand what was being said but instead wondered if it symbolic rather than the actual message itself.
The paper was placed on slate background with a piece of white cotton that had seemingly been used to seal it up was left wafting across the wording.
Not giving very much away, Britney captioned: “My videos were shot before I was pregnant just so you know.
The Hit Me Baby One More Time songstress added a string of rose emojis and tagged the photographer who had created the mystic setting.
Suspicious fans demanded to know what was going on with Britney’s posts of late and accused others of taking over her social media on her behalf.
One suspecting online user penned: “They love posting the caption the photos for their little lies who is running this page @britneyspears.”
While other attempted to guess the meaning behind the key and note.
“Love letters,” added one person.
“A key to life,” guessed another.
A third said: “Under Lock & Key….’We basically live in my closet now’…….from her last post.”

“Is this The key to unlock your Hawaii Conservatorship @britneyspears?” questioned another.
More recently the hitmaker caused a stir after announcing she was expecting her third child with partner Sam Asghari.
Britney, who is already mum to Sean, 16, and Jayden, 15 – who she shares with ex-husband Kevin Federline, has been forthcoming about her yearning to have another child over the years.
During her conservatorship hearing in June last year, Britney spoke out against her father Jaime Spears and her management team, claiming that she had been unable to “get married and have a baby” under her dads rules.
At the time, she told Judge Brenda Penny: “I would like to progressively move forward and I want to have the real deal. I want to be able to get married and have a baby. I have an [IUD] inside of myself so I don’t get pregnant. They don’t want me to have children — any more children.”
