Britney Spears wishes she 'slapped' her mum and sister after Justin Timberlake split

Britney Spears opened up about her split from her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake and accused her family of not supporting her during the breakup.

The 40-year-old pop star shares her perspective about the family’s reaction, including little sister Jamie Lynn, with whom she’s been on a public tirade in the last few days.

The Toxic singer and Justin, 40, dated for five years from 1998-2002.

During the period, Britney revealed how she wanted to “slap” her sister Jamie, 30, and their mom Lynne Spears, because when she “flew home” after their split she was apparently treated like “a ghost.”

She had taken to Instagram to share her account of events, a day after Jamie gave her own version of how she reacted.

One part of Britney’s Instagram post read: “I flew home to Jamie Lynn on the couch watching her TV shows right after Justin and I broke up… I was a ghost there.”

Britney added: “Justin’s family was all I knew for many years.

“My Mamma was on pain medication and could barely hold a conversation in the house because her and my dad [Jamie Spears] split, and she was more messed up than anything.”

Among other things, she ended the post by raising that she wished she slapped her mum and sister.

She added: “I wasn’t strong enough to do what should have been done … slapped you [Jamie Lynn] and Mamma right across your f–king faces.”

The post comes a day after Jamie Lynn appeared on the Call Her Daddy podcast discussing Britney and Justin’s relationship.

She said: “I think everyone thought it was forever,” before adding: “I was so sad, first off because my sister was so sad, but that, too, was the first time I saw [that] maybe I didn’t know everything about the relationship.”

She added: “I thought how heartbreaking it must have been for my sister when ‘Cry Me a River’ came out.”

The most recent comments from Britney and Jamie Lynn are just some of the many tension-filled remarks they’ve directed towards each other.

Britney accused her little sister of not being supportive during her 13-year-long conservatorship battle that ended last November.
