Celebrity Catchphrase was left in chaos on Christmas Eve, as Strictly judge Shirley Ballas made an embarrassing name blunder.
While discussing her chosen charity during the special – which was repeated from 2021 – Shirley accidentally referred to host Stephen Mulhern as “Bradley”, referencing The Chase host Bradley Walsh.
Stephen told Shirley: “You’ve been on the show before. Last time you were on, you got four Catchphrases right.”

She then replied: “Well, let me tell you, Bradley…”
Stephen interrupted her to say: “What?! Stop! Stop! Just rewind, rewind what Shirley just said. Just in case you missed it. Do you know what you just said, Shirley?”
Her co-stars Oti Mabuse and Jonathan Ross collapsed into giggles as a confused Shirley said: “I’ve been watching [the show] religiously…”
“No, you called me Bradley,” Stephen informed her.
Shirley was left speechless as she said: “Oh, that’s The Chase, isn’t it?”
Stephen ordered her: “Jonathan, have a word, please?”
In his trademark style, Jonathan quipped: “I will, Jeremy. I’ll sort this out.” Turning to Shirley, he said: “Listen, that’s Jeremy Clarkson. He’s very good at his job. He’s got a farm and everything.”
Fans quickly turned to Twitter to comment on the cringe error, with one writing: “Shirley calling Stephen Bradley! [cry-laughing emojis].”
Someone else couldn’t resist giggling: “Shirley calling Stephen ‘Bradley’ and thought she’s on The Chase!”
“FFS, Shirley Ballas is on #Catchphrase and thinks Stephen Mulhearn is Bradley Walsh!!” a third echoed.
While someone else said: “‘Now let me tell you Bradley…’ + No, Shirley. This isn’t Blankety Blank.”
Another fan couldn’t resist posting: “Shirley Ballas not disappointing getting names wrong like she did on Strictly.”
It comes after Shirley got Strictly pro Dianne Buswell’s name wrong on the live Saturday night show, calling her ‘Diana’ instead.
But Dianne leapt to Shirley’s defence after the comment, explaining: “She actually apologised to me personally as well and said it was an honest mistake.
“And this happens, you know, my pop actually calls me Diana – well, he did call me Diana all the time!
“So I’m like… I quite like it. But you know, we’re all human, aren’t we?”
