Celebrity plastic surgery nightmares – from botched boob jobs to disaster facelifts

There’s no doubt that physical appearance plays a big role in the entertainment industry, and with the pressure to look good plastic surgery is a common occurrence among celebs.

These days it can be difficult to find a celeb who hasn’t had some type of work done.

Nips and tucks, liposuction, fillers, facelifts and boob jobs, they get it all. But sometimes going under the knife comes with a price.

While many celebs flaunt their post-surgery looks, others live in regret of their botched jobs and appearance altering procedures.

We’ve rounded up some of the worst plastic surgery nightmares that celebs have experienced, from leaking facelift wounds to career-ending surgeries.

Katie Price

Katie Price is definitely no stranger to plastic surgery and the former glamour model has been open about the work that she’s had done, including when it’s gone wrong.

Katie had her first bit of plastic surgery, a boob job, done at the start of her career.

Since then she’s had two facelifts, a nose job, cheek and lip fillers, Botox, liposuction, eye and lip lifts, a Brazilian but lift and a whopping 13 boob jobs.

But with all that work comes a fair few disasters and the 43-year-old has opened up about her plastic surgery nightmares.

Speaking about a botched breast enlargement that she was offered for free in Turkey, she told OK! Magazine: “I don’t know why I went to Turkey. You get offered these things and I took advantage of it and that’s because I wasn’t in a good place. It’s the worst thing I did. My boobs looked deformed.”

Katie got her breasts corrected in 2020 but her surgery nightmares don’t end there.

In 2019 the media personality reportedly had to seek medical assistance after wounds from a facelift became infected and started leaking.

In the same year, she had “rotten” surgical stitches removed by her then-boyfriend Kris Boyson.

Despite the mishaps, Katie still denies claims that she regrets getting work done.

Tara Reid

Actress Tara Reid, known for her role as Vicky in the American Pie films, claims that plastic surgery significantly damaged her career.

The actress had two botched procedures, a breast enhancement that left her with deformed nipples, and a body contouring procedure that left her with disfigurements.

Speaking about the damage her surgeries caused, she told US Weekly: “My stomach became the most ripply, bulgy thing. I had a hernia, this huge bump next to my belly button. As a result, I couldn’t wear a bikini. I lost a lot of work.”

Linda Evangelista

Last year Linda Evangelista revealed that she’d been a victim of plastic surgery gone wrong.

The Canadian supermodel said that she’d had an adverse reaction to CoolScuplting, a popular fat-freezing method.

56-year-old Linda told PEOPLE that the procedure had left her “permanently deformed” and “brutally disfigured.”

Evangelista was diagnosed with Paradoxical adipose hyperplasia (PAH), a side effect of CoolSculpting that causes the affected fatty tissue to thicken and expand.

Sharon Osbourne

Sharon Osbourne is another celeb who has always been open about the work that she’s had done.

Last year the British-American TV personality underwent her fifth facelift but she recently opened up about how her latest one ended in disaster.

In an interview with the Sunday Times, Osbourne said: “I’m telling you, it was horrendous. [To the surgeon] I’m, like, ‘You’ve got to be f***** joking. One eye was different to the other’. I looked like a f***** Cyclops. I’m, like, ‘All I need is a hunchback,'”

Jennifer Grey

Jennifer Grey was the star of the 1987 hit romance Dirty Dancing, but the actress, who played Frances ‘Baby’ Houseman, later had a career-ending nose job that left her unrecognisable.

Jennifer recently opened up about the nose job in her new book Out of the Corner: A Memoir. The actress said that she got the nose job because she wanted to be cast as “something other than a Jew”.

Initially, the nose job went well and Grey said she “finally made real money for the very first time in my life… working nonstop”

But after cartilage started protruding from her nose the actress was forced to have another procedure that made her unrecognisable, she said: “In the world’s eyes, I was no longer me.”
