Sunday Brunch erupted into chaos this morning, after host Tim Lovejoy became involved in a ‘fight’ with one of the guests.
Actor James Purefoy, who has starred in Netflix hit Sex Education and fantasy series A Discovery Of Witches, appeared as a guest on the Channel 4 programme this morning (August 7, 2022).
He had been asked to bring in real props from TV series Rome, where he played Mark Anthony between 2005 to 2007, so that he could teach host Tim how to create a realistic fight onscreen.

James showed that all the props were made of rubber, before Tim pulled out his own prop Roman sword saying: “You’re going to teach me aren’t you?”
Tim asked the actor: “What’s the key for making this look realistic for the cameras?”
James gave Tim some tips, saying: “When kids are doing play fighting, they just hit swords. You have to come at me. Try and get me.”
James’ challenge provoked Tim to jokingly open his arms wide and say, “Have you heard about my reputation?”
As Tim and James faced each other, singer and guest Sophie Ellis Bextor told them both: “Take it outside guys.”
Chaos then erupted when the fake fight began, with fellow host Simon Rimmer jokingly shouting: “Tim, Tim, leave it, he’s not worth it.”
As the stage fight ensued, Tim fell to the floor dramatically, leaving Simon and the guests in laughter.
Simon then savagely told Tim: “It’s not the first time you’ve died in here mate,” to which Tim replied: “And it won’t be the last.”
They later showed a slow-mo replay of the action, with fellow guest AJ Odudu saying: “You were there dying, and we just here eating.”
The show also saw James make a revelation about working on the film Fisherman’s friends, during one of the show’s many cooking segments.
Simon was making a cornish pasty, when James revealed that he had to make one for the film Fisherman’s Friends, but that “it was the one bit of the script I hadn’t paid attention to.”
