Channel 5's Dan Walker takes a swipe at Piers Morgan as ratings feud continues

Dan Walker has taken a swipe at Piers Morgan in his latest Instagram post continuing the ongoing feud.

The former BBC Breakfast presenter posted a picture to Instagram of his first broadcast of 5 News where he was standing with his new co host Claudia-Liza Vanderpuij.

In the caption he wrote: “Lots of talk about figures last night… we are quite happy with ours.

“The Channel 5 News audience was up over 70%. Thanks so much for watching.

“We’ll see you tonight at 5, on 5.”

This comes after there has been a lot of focus on Piers Morgan’s figures for his show Uncensored on Talk Tv.

Walker and Morgan had regular Twitter spats over ratings during their time as rivals.

Last year Morgan quit Good Morning Britain after walking out of the studio live on air following a row with colleague Alex Beresford about Meghan Markle.

Yesterday (June 6) Walker did an interview on breakfast show Good Morning Britain, where he pretended to storm out of the studio in another dig at Piers Morgan.

At the end of the interview, he said before walking out: “I’m going to do what they normally do on this programme. Storm off.”

Since leaving Good Morning Britain Piers Morgan has joined Rupert Murdoch’s new venture TalkTV with his evening show Piers Morgan Uncensored, although his ratings have been dropping since it launched in May.

After debuting to more than 300,000 viewers, the show has plummeted in the ratings with a recent broadcast finishing on just 10,000 viewers.
