Comedian Russell Kane urges Prince Harry to 'be honest' about memoir's huge pay packet

Steph’s Packed Lunch was headed up by blonde bombshell Denise Van Outen live from Leeds, joined by a selection of celebrities, they all discussed the announcement of Prince Harry’s new memoir.

Following on from the revelation today of Prince Harry’s memoir title and cover of what will be called Spare, Denise spoke to Russell Kane about the book.

“Well, he’s having to make a lot of edits obviously, because of the tragic news we’ve had this year.

“So maybe Spare will relate to how much ‘pros’ is left after he’s edited out all the hurtful stuff,” Russell began.

He then explained how he thinks Prince Harry “should just be honest” and say “I’ve got a story to tell. I want to sell it. It’s gonna sell a lot of books. People are gonna love it and it’s gonna be juicy.”

“That’s what’s really going on here,” the comedian speculated.

Mimicking the Prince he said: “It’s part of my healing process,” in a posh voice before asking: “Was the £15 million advance part of your healing process as well?”

Denise then interjected that the proceeds would be going to charity, which left Russell outlining that it would be the proceeds and not the advance being donated.

“As far as I understand, the proceeds are going to charity but he can’t afford to pay the advance back.

“But let’s not focus on the £10 million that’s been kept, let’s focus on when the book breaks into a profit,” he Russell laughed.
