Coronation Street Stu murder twist 'sealed' as fans 'work out' Charlie's real killer

Coronation Street fans are convinced they’ve worked who really killed Charlie Walter.

Zeedan (Qasim Akhtar) and Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) were determined to clear their friend Stu Carpenter’s (Bill Fellows) name during Monday’s episode of the ITV soap.

Fans were left gobsmacked when Stu’s secret was revealed a few weeks ago.

He tried to protest his innocence but his ex Lucy arrived in Weatherifeld to tell Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) that Stu confessed to Charlie’s murder after his DNA was found over her body.

He’s done his time behind bars but sadly, his secret was dug up when a journalist made him from page of the Gazette.

As Alya and Zeedan sorted through Stu’s case files, they come across the interview tapes.

Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) pointed out that Stu was questioned for over 10 hours, which is against the rules and there’s also a tape missing.

Later on, in the prison visiting room, Yasmeen listened to Stu as he told her about the affair with Charlie, who was 12 years his junior.

Norman, Stu’s solicitor, also confirmed that Stu was coerced into making a confession.

Fans rushed to their keyboards to predict that Lucy killed Charlie after learning about Stu’s affair.

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: “I can’t believe Stu was framed like this. I reckon Stu’s ex wife and daughter teamed up to frame him? Maybe they both killed that young girl together.”

Another added: “I bet Stu’s ex is the real murderer.”

A third person posted: “Maybe it’s stu’s ex that killed he girl. He thinks it was his daughter, she thinks it was him and her mum’s happy to let her think it was him to keep them apart and stop them finding out the truth.”

While a fourth social media user said: “Does anyone else think it was Stus ex wife who killed that girl?”

Fans will have to wait to find out if the truth behind Charlie’s death is revealed as Stu gets released from prison later this week.

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday on ITV at 8pm
