Corrie's Aadi Alahan star hints at his own surprise exit as 'close' co-star quits

Coronation Street fans might have to bid an emotional farewell to more than one much-loved character after Millie Gibson handed in her notice.

Her character Kelly Neelan recently found out that Gary Windass was the one to murder her dad Rick and vowed to get revenge, putting both their lives in jeopardy.

But with her engagement party to Aadi looming, Kelly books them both one-way tickets to Bangkok and insists Aadi come with her after hiring a hitman to murder Gary.

Now actor Adam Hussain has indicated that Aadi “would give up his life” for his fiancée because he has nothing left on the cobbles to make him stay with his sister Asha and dad Dev.

Speaking to Daily Star and other press, the actor said: “I think, ultimately, Aadi would give up his life for Kelly. He’s not having a good time at home in the street – he’s been in car crashes and set on fire and being dumped, and now he’s finally found someone who understands him.

“So I think, given the opportunity, he would run away with Kelly.”

Describing what drew the characters towards each other, Adam explained: “They’re quite different in their personalities, but I think they relate to each other with the stuff that they’ve been through.

“Neither of them have anyone to understand them or talk to them about those things, but they could do that with each other. That’s what made him fall in love with her, because he couldn’t relate to anyone else. They’re a good match.

“Kelly brings out a good side to him, a rebellious side.”

Adam also paid an emotional tribute to his departing co-star Millie, who handed in her soap notice earlier this year.

Adam recently attended Millie’s star-studded leaving party, as she and her co-stars headed out at Salford Quays, reunited with Kel Allen who played Kelly’s mum Laura.
