Corrie's Amy collapses in assault horror as drink is spiked by mystery predator

Coronation Street’s Amy Barlow is set for further heartache next week as she is plunged into danger at a club.

The youngster, who has recently been campaigning against upskirting at Weatherfield High, hasn’t had the best success in her love life so far – but dating ex-drug dealer Jacob could prove a step too far.

Jacob is set to approach Amy, Asha and Summer to suggest they go clubbing in town after the Valentine’s Day dance at school. They agree, meeting up with Jacob along with Aadi.

At the dance, teacher Daniel heads over to chat to Amy and her friends – but orders them to leave upon realising they’re all drunk. Meanwhile, Max is busy filming the dance as part of his newfound documentary-making skills.

Later, in the club, Amy becomes increasingly woozy and collapses – with Jacob yelling at her friends to call an ambulance.

Asha calls the emergency services while Jacob arranges Amy in the recovery position. In the hospital, her parents stare in shock at her lifeless body – with Asha and Aadi warning Steve that if Jacob is responsible for Amy’s condition, they’ll make sure hers is the last life he ever destroys.

Jacob, however, reckons someone spiked Amy’s drink before she ever got to the club, and later blood tests confirm she’s taken GHB.

Steve is convinced Jacob is at fault, and the lad soon reveals that he and Amy are together.

Later, a nurse informs Steve and Tracy that Amy should make a full recovery, and that whoever put her in the recovery position likely saved her life.

Meanwhile, Jacob swears it wasn’t him who spiked Amy’s drink – but Steve is having none of it, and orders him to stay away from Amy in future.

The teen is questioned by a police officer, but the interview is interrupted by a commotion in the corridor, and Tracy and Amy dash out to find Steve punching Jacob.

Amy makes it clear to her dad that it’s her decision whether or not she wants to see Jacob, but Simon’s unimpressed mum Leanne soon pops round to rail at her for ever getting involved with him.

Amy later receives a text, which says her boyfriend has been arrested for supplying fake IDs. In the cafe, Simon tells Amy he’s the one who got him banged up.

In the backyard of No.1, Amy sadly tells Jacob she had no choice but to call an end to their relationship.

An unlikely suspect could be the one to put all the pieces together, however, as Daniel asks Max to download the footage he took of the dance to show to the police.

Watching the footage back, however, Max is stunned by what he sees. When dad David returns home with a police officer in tow, Max hands the camera over to the officer.

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7:30pm.
