Coronation Street fans have been left terrified for Adam Barlow and Sarah Platt as their lives have been ruined by a mystery stalker.
And last week, that stalker was identified as none other than Sarah’s pal and Adam’s former fling Lydia Chambers – who has left threatening messages for the couple, called armed police to the solicitors’ office and smashed Adam’s car windows in.
But regardless of Lydia’s intentions on the street, actress Rebecca Ryan has simply been having a great time on-set – including hanging out more with her co-star brother.
Rebecca’s brother Jack James Ryan actually plays soap bad boy Jacob Hay – the drug dealer responsible for bringing Harvey to the street to terrorise Simon and Leanne, who is now in a relationship with Amy Barlow.
And though they haven’t spent much time filming together, Rebecca has revealed the sweet way she spends more time with her little bro on the cobbles.
Speaking to Daily Star and other press, she explained: “We’ve not managed to have any scenes together unfortunately.
“I was thinking, ‘Could we not just have one where I’m in the background of one of his scenes, just walking past?’ – but no we’ve not managed to get one together yet, which is such a shame!”
She added: “We’ve had only very few days [where we’ve both been in], but every now and again we are.
“Sometimes if we’re both in, I’ll either come in a bit earlier if he’s in or a bit later and take him home – just so we have a bit of time together on the set. It’s great when we’re in at the same time, it’s fantastic!”
Jack is obviously proud to have his sister working alongside him, as he shared a picture of them both outside the Rovers Return to his social media, penning: “Still can’t believe this is happening but I’m beyond proud to finally announce my ridiculously talented sister @rebeccaryan___ is joining the cast of @coronationstreet.
“When people asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up I’d say ‘an actor on TV like my big sister.’ You’ve been my biggest inspiration and I’ll never be able to articulate just how proud I am to be your little bro.
“They say never work with family but on this occasion I’d like to strongly disagree.
“Can’t wait for Lydia to hit our screens in December so make sure to keep an eye out to see what she gets up to!”
Jack and Rebecca aren’t the only siblings with talent in the Ryan family, as their brother Charlie is also an actor – and has even worked with Rebecca before.
But another pal Rebecca’s been enjoying some time with is Tina O’Brien, best known for playing Sarah Platt – as they used to work together on Waterloo Road.
The star gushed of her Corrie experience: “I’ve been absolutely loving it, I really have. It’s just such an excellent place to work, it’s so friendly and everyone has been so lovely – it has just made my time there so good.
“I’ve worked with Tina before on Waterloo Road, so it was so lovely to do most of my storylines with her – she’s just been so brilliant and amazing so I’ve absolutely loved working with her again.
“Sam [Robertson] has been great too – I’ve had a lot to do with him obviously, in the storylines… but even the other people who you kind of just meet in the green room that you don’t really have stuff to do with, they’ve just all made me feel so welcome!
“It’s been such a gorgeous job to work on.”
